this reminds me of a story my mom always told me about how her ‘guela always told her no one mattered more than anybody. so one day when a candidate for presidency came thru the barrio, as the whole town crowded around him, my mom stayed on the sidewalk alone, playing w her marbles. not giving a flyin fuck bout him at all.
so he made a point to make his way out of the crowd to go sit next to her and try to figure out why this one lil girl was the only one who seemed utterly and completely unimpressed and unamused by him. he actually asked why! LOL and she was like my ‘guela said everyones the same and last time i checked i dont even know you so….and she went back to playing w her marbles. i guess he found that shit hilarious.
